Fourth Grade
Students in 4th grade are growing tremendously in their musical listening skills. Identifying orchestral instruments by sight and by sound is an important skill we are working on. Also, learning the notes on the treble staff is a valuable skill for the students and will prepare them for playing recorders and reading music. Order forms for recorders will be available in October. I know they have been looking forward to this moment! Thank you for your support of their recorder playing as they squeak through their early note learning! They will improve on that with practice and make you proud! In class each week we also review rhythmic reading, including identifying and playing all notes and rests. Singing is an integral part of every lesson and students will be enjoying multicultural songs, folk songs, and much more. I look forward to all the great music making this year! Mrs. Ropp
